Drones for Foresters: Introducing the Phantom 4 Pro and Pro V2

The Pro and Pro V2 (and also the Phantom 4 RTK) use the same camera, and this is the most crucial part in precision aerial data analytics. This is a really good, economical option for foresters needing to capture excellent 2D data (for counting seedlings and trees, for example). However, its wide Field of View (94°, as opposed to 77° with the Mavic Pro 2) makes it less suitable for 3D modelling in a forestry context, because this leads to quite a lot of distorted trees around the edge of the images.
Easy to fly
Camera: 20MP one-inch sensor
Stable in light wind
Collision avoidance
Cannot be folded for transport (unlike the Mavic Pro 2, for example), which makes it bulkier to carry around the forest
Weight: 1375g
Good for 2D modelling, but not ideal for 3D modelling in a forestry context
Flight time approx. 25-30 minutes
Price around €1500
